Giving Thanks

Hello everyone, and welcome to the November 2023 boodle blog! We appreciate you hope that our content has helped you over the past 10 months of 2023. Boodle believes that the best person to manage and grow your money is you, and we are always here to educate you on all things stock market related!
2023 has been fairly volatile and we have pretty much adhered to our disciplined approach to events that have upended more seasoned professionals, but we have remained on track.
For the month of October, all 3 tracking indexes; the Dow, the S&P 500, and the NASDAQ finished lower. These losses ranged from 1.36% on the Dow, to 2.2% for the S&P 500. The NASDAQ also finished in the red. Many prognosticators are saying the market is now in a full-blown correction, and we won't argue with that prognosis. As a matter of fact, here at boodle we are of the opinion that corrections in the market are normal and healthy.
A correction allows for the market to be at a better price, and this allows you to go out and pick up shares of your favorite stock or mutual fund at a discounted price. In addition, the year to date return on the Dow is 2.76% and 13.51% on the S&P 500. The NASDAQ is up 28.78% as we go to press. If these are “corrections”, then we will take those returns! Remember- boodle is of the opinion that we entered a bull market last year, and so far we have seen no evidence that our market call is now out of favor.
We continue with our view that boodle members should continue dollar-cost-averaging into the market and that their portfolios should remain fully invested in equities if that was their call last year when we announced our prediction.
So with that being said; what do we expect from the month of November? Good question. We expect the market will be slightly higher come November 30th than where it started on November 1st.

The market is entering its final 7 weeks or so, and we believe that the Fed will not raise rates in November, and that the unemployment rate will continue to baffle the experts, which will lead to a nice positive finish for your portfolios.
This knowledge is something to give thanks for, and as we approach Thanksgiving, let's remember that not everyone is sharing in good fortunes, and that we need to keep our fellow citizens in our thoughts. We wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving, and we look forward to seeing you here back in December when we will close out the year 2023. Thank you for choosing boodle.
